Wanda Intering

Wanda Intering (nee. Teske) was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this earthly world on Good Friday, April 15, 2022, in Creston BC at the age of 83. Wanda passed, in her home, peacefully in the loving arms of her husband of 55 years, Al Intering.

She was born on November 28, 1938 in Sinofka, Poland to Christophe and Anna Teske. As a young girl, Wanda’s family relocated to Germany where she was raised. In 1962, at the age of 23, she made the move to Kitchener, ON Canada where she met her husband, Al and started a family. Soon after, they moved to Creston, BC and raised their daughters. Although her and her husband moved away after their daughters were grown, they chose to move back and retire there. She had a great work ethic and worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Wanda had a love for everything outdoors: gardening, nature walks, tending to her flowers and going to the orchards. She often sat, basking in the sun, in the tranquil backyard oasis she and her husband created; she loved the simplicity of life. During her retirement years, her and Al went for drives up the lake, went to the wildlife centre, and always made sure to stop at her favourite ice cream spot. She loved to sing hymns and often accompanied her husband while he played his clarinet or saxophone. She had a strong faith and love for God and often showed this in her giving and loving nature towards others.

She is lovingly cherished and remembered by her husband Al, her two daughters Denise Steffan and Heidi (Keith) Hache; grandchildren Brendan Airey and Arielle (Brandon) Ledgerwood, who remember her fondly as their Oma; and her brother Adolph. She is predeceased by her parents Christophe and Anna Teske; brother Otto; and sisters Ella and Rosel.

Private viewing will be held at G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel on April 16, 2022 and a private ceremony will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wanda’s name to BC Children’s Hospital (Vancouver).
