Ruth Horvath Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all – RUTH ARLENE (RUSSELL) HORVATH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 22, 2019 in Canyon, BC.

Ruth was born and raised in Carmen, MB. At 17 years old, she moved to Calgary, where she met Alex Horvath. They were married on December 3, 1960, and together they had four children.

In 1970 Ruth and Alex, along with their children, moved to an acreage in Canyon, B.C. To Ruth, family was everything. She was an exceptional homemaker and role model for her children and others. After raising her children, Ruth started work at the Creston Valley Hospital. She worked there for many years until her retirement from the front office in 2004. She loved life and always took pride in her work and her family.

Ruth will be sadly missed by her family and many close and dearest of friends. She now will be one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Ruth is survived by her four children: Brenda (Russell) Retzlaff, Arlene Yoshikawa, Wayne, and Roger (Karen); five grandchildren: Tamara, Brett, Mika, Sarah and Riley;one great grandchild: Brayden;three brothers: Blaine (Edna), Ron (Joan) and Gordon (Jacquie); two sisters: Jan and Bonnie (Denis) along with many special nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her mother, father, two sisters and three brothers.

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held.
