Robert (Bob) L'Ecluse passed away suddenly and was declared passed from this world on August 17, 2023. Bob was born November 29, 1946 in Raymond, Alberta. Bob lived in Raymond and didn't take long to make the news. At the tender age of 6, he was in the newspapers for getting shot in the groin from a random shot from 3 young boys with a stolen rifle. He carried the bullet in his body until the day he died, but luckily he did recover and eventually grew up to become fascinated by working around airports. He went up north as a young man and worked at airports in Hay River and Fort Smith in the N.W.T. By 1971, he was working at the Edmonton international Airport in the maintenance division. He met his wife, Evelyn and they welcomed a son (Edward)in 1972. Bob worked his way up at the airport and eventually was promoted to airport maintenance foreman, a title he held until he retired and moved to Erickson in 1988. Bob and Evelyn bought Fountain Grocery and gas and worked there for a few more years until they parted ways. Bob ran the store alone for a few years and eventually the business was sold. At around this same time, Bob met Hazel Phelps and absolutely fell in love with this incredible lady. Hazel was a blessing in dads life, and I believe dad was also a blessing for Hazel. Bob was also a long time employee at the Creston Home Hardware and it was a great place for him to work. He could fix just about everything and he was very good at helping people get what they need or to offer advice. They had a very symbiotic relationship. They loved to garden and they loved to camp up at Lockhart creek. Bob was predeceased by Hazel in April of 2022, his father Cesar Livinius L'Ecluse, his mother, Mary L'Ecluse (nee Strong) and numerous beloved pets. Bob is survived by his only son. Ed from Lacombe, Alberta and his beloved tripod sheltie dog, Tia. He is also survived by Hazels sons Wayne of Salmo and Russell from Edmonton. He will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to P.A.W.S. Creston would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place and the family will be having a semi private service in April near Creston.
