Surrounded by the hearts and love of many family and friends, Ray passed away peacefully in Creston, where he lived his entire life. From being a reliable night shift sawmill foreman and an avid fisherman, to growing the biggest dahlias in the valley, Ray was one of Creston’s most hardworking and cherished sons. He often measured character (and potential sons-in-law!) by how easily you could withstand his bone-crushing handshake. Ray loved to cook, whether it was for a family dinner or a huge church gathering. He also took a tremendous amount of pride in gardening, from his beautiful flowers to his huge tomatoes. His sense of humour was like no other and easily turned strangers into friends. Above all, Ray loved his Lord, his family and cherished over 70 years with Louise, his only love. He will be lovingly missed by Louise, daughters Sharon, Donna (Randy), Laurie (Nathan), his son Dave (Kim), siblings Carole, Maynard (Gladys), and Maxine (Alan), and close family members Keith Jensen, Jerry Mayer, and Ann Pedersen. He will remain in the fond memories of his 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. Ray was predeceased by his brother, Rick, and his sisters, Diane and Darlene. A special thank you to the entire staff at Crestview for the love, laughter and care you all shared with Ray.
