Peter Vander Pyl

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Vander Pyl at Swan Valley Lodge on April 25th, 2019 in Creston, B.C. at the age of 85 years.

Peter immigrated to Canada from Holland as a young man. He met Josephine (Jo) Nowicki while working in a bank; They were married in 1958 and had three children, and later two grandchildren. they retired to Creston in 2013.

Peter was active in sports including, playing on Canada’s Mens Olympic field Hockey team in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years Jo Vander Pyl, his children Robert (Christine), Gerald, Irene (Bernie) Vanhooft and grandchildren Andrew (Alisa) Vanhooft, Tara Vanhooft and Peter’s sister Rita Boon.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Cross Church Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 11:00 am Father Sylvester Ibekwe Officiating.
