Myrna Kaiser Obituary

On the morning of December 16, 2021, Myrna Ann Kaiser of Creston, BC, died peacefully at the age of 80 after a day in Creston Valley Hospital.
Myrna was born in 1941 in Griffin, SK to parents Ivol and Herman Krueger and three older sisters, Jean, Ione, and Joy.
She attended Mount Royal College in Calgary obtaining a secretarial diploma. In 1960 she married Kenneth Martin and they had three children, Jacquelyn, Marcia, and Gregory, who they raised in Creston. Together they ran West Coast Seafoods for many years.
After divorcing, she married Peter Kaiser and they lived in Arrow Creek, enjoying their home tucked away in the woods. She made elaborate, delicious meals when family visited and welcomed lengthy visits from her grandchildren in the summers.
Myrna loved to read, write letters, and talk and talk and talk on the phone with family and friends as well as host teas and lunches with her homemade baking. She was an active, longtime member of Creston Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, librarian and was involved in several Bible studies and prayer groups around the world. She also donated her time as a hospice volunteer. She worked as a payroll clerk at J.H. Huscroft Ltd sawmill from 1973 until her retirement.
She was an exceedingly generous, smiling, uncomplaining light who bore her struggles with the auto-immune disease CREST with grace and dignity. She was so strong for so long, remaining at home until the day before she died.
She is survived by her husband Peter and her five step-children, Lori, Shelly, Tammy, Todd and Ciana, and their families, her three children and their families, two sisters, and preceded in death by her parents, sister Joy, and three grandchildren.
