Irvin Sobry

Elvis has left the building……

Irvin Leonard Sobry of Creston, BC, passed away at his home on August 10, 2024, at 81 years of age.

Irvin was a loving husband, caring father, committed grandfather and friend to so many; his handshake was his word.

Irvin was born on his family farm in Tilston, Manitoba, on January 28, 1943. He lived a full farm life, acquiring the grit and hard work ethic that he carried throughout his many careers and businesses.

Irvin was well known for his ability to talk about anything to anyone who would listen, his various business endeavours, his late-night email jokes to so many, his love of playing pool and the many hours of playing crib at the kitchen table.

Irvin is survived by his wife Evelyn; his daughters Shelley, Tammy (Ken), and Ellen (Mike); his grandchildren Tanis, Antonia, Rebecca, Madison, Kegan, Emma, and Callia; his great-grandchildren Abby and Maverick; his siblings Linda and Clifford (Cheryl); and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Irvin was pre-deceased by his parents, Leonard and Mable, his brother Gary, his sister Lorraine, his brother-in-laws Frank and Bud, his sister-in-law Karen, and his cherished son Anthony.

At Irvin’s request, there will be no service, and to honour his character, he would rather friends and family shoot a game of pool and have a glass of wine.
