Gerald (Gerry) Nernberg

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of Gerald (Gerry) Wayne Nernberg of Creston, B.C. on December 15, 2021. He was born and raised in Russell, Manitoba on November 26, 1948.

Gerry started his banking career from 1967 to 1982. We then owned and operated a motel in Watrous Saskatchewan for 8 years. Then move to Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan where we owned and operated Echo Insurance and Motor Licensing until 1998, when the prairies proved to be too cold for us we moved to the beautiful Creston Valley. This is where Gerry did what he loved best - working the land and raising cattle. 

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 38 years, Avaline (nee Kostick) Nernberg from Creston BC, his daughter Theresa (Don) Vergamini and his granddaughter Devon from Kamloops, B.C. and his son Whitney Nernberg also of Creston, B.C.

Gerry Was predeceased by his father, Oscar Nernberg and his mother Margaret Nernberg (nee Zimmer) of Inglis, Manitoba area, also his nephew Jeffery Nernberg of London, Ontario (Denfield) and his father in-law George Kostick of Roblin, Manitoba.

Gerry leaves behind three brothers, two sisters and his mother-in-law.

Mother-in-Law Carol Robbins of Roblin, Manitoba

Gerry leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles across Canada and various parts of the United States.

Gerry Loved people and was a friend to many. There was no favor he refused to those he called friends.

A Celebration of life will follow at a later date.
