It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gail Kitt on August 14, 2021 at Creston, B.C.
Gail was born on October 29, 1946 in Victoria, British Columbia to Van and Isabel Gooderham. Gail received schooling in Cranbrook B.C. and got her Teaching Certification in Victoria, B.C. She taught in the Kootenay Lake and Creston Valley region for 35 years.
Everyone in the Creston Valley was either taught or knows someone who was taught by Gail Kitt. Everyone knew her.
Gail was a founding member of the Footlighters acting troupe in 1969. She was heavily involved in the Creston arts scene for many years. She had been an actor, producer, director, make-up artist, promoter, organizer and more.
Gail is predeceased by her husband Albert, her parents, sister Ann, brother-in-law Ron, and her brother Jim.
She is survived by her sons Matthew Kitt and Jason (Maureen) Kitt and; daughter Tracey Kitt; brothers Tom (Grace) Gooderham, Steven and Cameron Gooderham; grandchildren Eden (Tristan) Standing and Sarah Lindhorst (Richard Williams); great-grandchildren Beck and Georgia May Standing; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and a myriad of friends.
A Celebration of Life service to be held in the fall.
