Eva Nora Francoeur née Doucette quietly passed away on May 13, 2026, in Creston, BC, at the age of 78.
Eva was born on August 27, 1947, to Blanche and Ovila Doucette in Spiritwood, SK.
Eva married Leon Francoeur in 1964, and during their 39-year marriage, they had four children: Lisa, Darlene, Darren, and Todd.
Eva grew up Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She loved to attend Catholic mass in Creston, where she met many great people and was a member of the Catholic Women's League.
Eva was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent many years running her own bakery in Kitchener, BC. She later worked for 19 years as Head Housekeeper at Pioneer Villa in Creston, BC, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. Alongside her career, Eva took great pride in keeping a warm and welcoming home for her family. Eva’s home was always open to others, and every child was made to feel welcome. There was often an extra place at the table and extra mouths to feed at supper time, something she gladly provided with love, generosity and care.
After retirement, Eva spent her time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids, travelling, fishing, quilting and enjoying the beauty of the Creston Valley.
Eva was predeceased by her parents, Blanche and Ovila; her brothers, Victor and Mark Doucette; her sister Muriel Koop; and her son Darren Francoeur.
She is survived by her sister, Audrey Laventure, and her brothers, Rene and Marcel Doucette.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lisa (Keith) Ostendorf, Darlene (Clifford) Wiebe, and Todd (Paulette) Francoeur.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Dallas (Kacie) Ostendorf, Dustin (Dani) Ostendorf, Teandra Ostendorf, Larissa Wiebe, Darren Rogne (Kayla Benson), Kimberly Francoeur (Paris Weir), Oliver Francoeur (Elyssa Caouette Davies), and Rielle Francoeur.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Kobyn, Emma, and Sawyer Ostendorf; Aiden, Carson, and Rylah Ostendorf; Kahleesi Rogne and Huxley Ahlefeld. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, expected this fall, to Oliver and Elyssa, and to Kimberly and Paris.
