Dennis Hansen

Dennis was born to Niels Thormod Gunner Hansen of Denmark and Elizabeth Hansen of Saskatchewan on July 19, 1943, in Prince Rupert, BC.

In 1962, he met the love of his life, Ruth Tull, and married in 1965. Before long came the children, George (Angela), BettyAnne (Sydney) (Darryl), Dennis Jr (Diane), Mark(LaToria), and Shawn who passed away in 1974.

In 1968, Dennis became an Ironworker and commenced his career with Cominco in Trail, BC. He became “leaded” several times and had to be off work for periods of time to lower the lead levels in his body. Instead of sitting still and taking it easy, he went long haul trucking from Trail to Northern BC.

Dennis, Ruth and family moved to Salmo, BC, in 1970, where they remained, and Ruth remains.

After 34 years, he decided to retire from Cominco in 2002.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, reloading his ammo, playing his trumpet, yodelling, taking long rides on his motorcycle and monkey wrenching things around the house.

Grandpa/Papa or Pops as he was known by his 10 grandchildren, Sheena, Trisha, Shelby, Jordan, Ashley, Paige, Dorian, Mark Jr (MJ), Henrik, Azia and 12 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Braden, Dominic, Eva, Ellio, Kale, Ahmi, Colton, Travis, Chase, Octavia and Talan.

The second love of his life was his co-pilot Coco, who was brought to him from Mexico by Peter and Rhonda Leathard.

Dennis’ passion for the truth and his love of Jehovah were witnessed in 1961 at the age of 18,

when he dedicated his life to Jehovah.
