Delina Anne Phyllis Ireland, known to all as Anne. Her journey, spanning 84 remarkable years,
It was a testament to the beauty of a life lived with curiosity and creativity.
Anne's love for the arts and literature was evident in the vibrant paintings she created, each
one a reflection of her unique perspective on the world. Her home, a haven for the written
word, was filled with books that spoke to her insatiable thirst for knowledge and understanding.
Nature was Anne's sanctuary. Her garden was a place of peace and renewal, where she
nurtured life with care and compassion. Her love for animals was equally profound, a
reflection of her kind and gentle spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Anne's adventurous soul led her to explore the far corners of the globe, immersing herself in
diverse cultures and experiences. Yet, she never lost sight of her roots, remaining deeply
committed to her community and its future. Her involvement in municipal affairs was a
testament to her belief in the power of collective action.
Above all, Anne's greatest legacy is her family. She is survived by her two sons, Ron and Stuart
Elder. Her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Anne's life reminds us of the importance of cherishing every moment, of finding beauty in the
world around us, and of leaving a legacy of love and kindness. As we bid her farewell, we hold
her memory close to our hearts, knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us to explore,
create, and care for one another.
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Rest in peace, Anne. You will forever be held in
our thoughts and prayers.
