David Warren Browatzke of Crawford Bay, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, at Creston Valley Hospital at the age of 77 years old. He suffered from a traumatic brain injury and congestive heart failure for many years. He was born June 25, 1948, to Ilean and Kurt Browatzke, into a large family of 10 and had amazing and wonderful siblings he was truly grateful for and loved dearly.
He worked as a superintendent and was also in charge of maintenance and security at Weyburn Square Mall when his family was young, until moving to Red Deer, Alberta, where he worked at the Gaetz United Church until moving to Crawford Bay, British Columbia in 1993.
He worked in Crawford Bay as a Handyman and Carpenter. Dad loved vehicles, was mechanically inclined, enjoyed working, could fix almost anything, and lent a helping hand whenever he could. We like to think of him as a jack of all trades and master of many.
Our dad loved his little dog, a miniature Pomeranian, Miss Mouse, and always had a love of western movies and horses from his younger years, chuck wagon racing with Harley McFarlene. Dad also loved working in his shop, fishing and the lake.
Dad will be greatly missed and is survived by his three children, Kourtney Browatzke, Karmen Browatzke, and Dugan (Melissa) Browatzke, and two grandchildren, Lucas and Olive Browatzke. We deeply loved our dad and are forever grateful for his unwavering support and unconditional love.
A special thank you to Cory, Murielle, Nurse Susan and the rest of his healthcare team. Thank you to all the East Shore Community for helping our dad and giving him support in his final years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
