Bertha passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2022 at the age of 96. Born in Gameren, a small village in the Netherlands, Bertha moved several times before moving to Nelson, BC. In Nelson, Bertha fell in love with her first husband, Earl Kline, while working at the Four X Bakery. They started their family and moved to Creston where they raised their four daughters. Bertha is predeceased by her husbands Earl Kline, Frank Angebrandt, and Clinton Coates, her sisters Ariena Mackie and Jean Ryan, and her daughters, Pat Andrew and Diane Sandre. She is survived by her children Joyce Johnson (Edwin) and Cindy Kline (Russell), and her grandchildren, Teresa Bell (Scott), Terina Sandre, Kevin Johnson (Sunni), Kristina Andrew (Devon), Eric Johnson (Amber), Kristen Andrew (Melissa), Ashley Bennett, and Aaron Bennett (Jessica). Bertha will be missed by her many great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cade, Matteo, Kai, Lynden, Keaton, Ruby, Zachary, Carson, Danika, and Cohen. Bertha also leaves behind many friends. Bertha loved square dancing, camping, and always cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-children. The family would like to thank the staff at Swan Valley Lodge for their care and compassion during Bertha’s final months. Bertha had a heart of gold and everybody who knew her will miss her dearly.
