Barbara Ellen McIntyre (née Wagg) passed away on January 3rd, 2025 in Creston. She was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on December 12, 1944 and was the 4th oldest of five children borne to Alfred Theodore and Jean Valentine Wagg (née Gray). Barbara enjoyed a long and satisfying career as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career spanned over three decades. During that time, she worked in Saskatchewan, Oregon, and British Columbia. Barbara is survived by her children: Jonathan David Jackson (Melissa Hann) and Hilory Gaye McIntyre (James Paul) and her siblings: James Wagg (Jolaine), Ruth Buffam (Vern), sister-in-law Diane Weir Wagg, brother-in-law Ken Parker as well as her beloved grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Jean Wagg; her first husband, David Walter Jackson; her second husband, Richard McIntyre; and siblings, David Wagg and Donna Parker. Barbara spent over 30 years in Oregon where she worked as a nurse, raised her family, and enjoyed many hobbies including antique collecting and interior decorating. She also managed and ran a busy medical practice. She was involved in her church and loved to sing. She spent many years singing with a chorale. After living in Oregon, she returned to Creston where she was enveloped by the community. For several years, she ran an exercise group for people with Parkinson’s. She also sang with her church choir and was part of the Go-Go Grannies. She liked nothing better than to attend a concert or play with one of her friends or to visit her grandchildren in Oregon. Barbara will be remembered for her sense of humor and “one-liners”, as well as her creative abilities and her skill at turning any space into a beautiful work of art. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to New Life Church would be appreciated by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the New Life Church in Creston, B.C. on Friday, January 10th at 3 pm.
