The family of Anne Marie Hooey would like to announce her passing away on March 29, 2026.
She was born to Thimes and Johanna Christiansen on the farm at Admiral, Saskatchewan, on September 21, 1932. She was the oldest of five children. She attended Admiral School until she boarded in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to complete her high school.
From there, she worked at the Experimental Farm outside of Swift Current. She met and later married William (Bill) Hooey in June of 1951. They had two children, Patricia and Dean.
In 1964, they moved to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, where Anne worked at the Eaton's store. They moved again in 1969 to Creston, British Columbia, where Anne worked at the bowling alley for many years and also at the Creston Post Office.
She spent the rest of her years living amongst the mountains she loved.
She was predeceased by her father, Thimes, and mother, Johanna, as well as one sister, Irene, and one brother, Alvin.
Anne is survived by her daughter Patricia (Arnold) and son Dean; three grandchildren: Kevin (Tina), Candice, and Kurt (Jen); and great-grandchildren: Sofie and Isak, Sydney, Mackenzie, and Laityn. She is also survived by two sisters, Lorna Goddu and Tova Lamotte, and numerous nieces and nephews.
