Allen Stace-Smith Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Allen Grant Stace-Smith

December 16, 1952 – December 13, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Allen Grant Stace-Smith who passed away on December 13, 2022.

Allen was born on December 16, 1952 in Creston, British Columbia. He met his wife Kathy and they married in 1976 and had two beautiful children together, Casey and Lana. Casey was born in December, 1976 and Lana was born in April, 1978. Allen and his family lived in Quesnel, British Columbia where he worked as an ambulance driver, after which he worked for Barkerville Tourism and did various other jobs. Allen and his family lived in Quesnel, British Columbia for five years before moving to Creston, British Columbia where Allen pursued a career as a Taxi Driver and he loved it.

Allen was smart as a whip and had a unique social presence. However, he was best known in the community for being a backyard mechanic and having the “Boogie Man House”, as well as his taxi driving, supporting the local cannabis farmers, his big straw hat, witty comments and a devious smirk. Allen was a very colorful person and an amazing story teller. He was interested in old cars which he collected and worked on, dinosaurs and anything relating to astronomical science. He always wanted to travel the universe. But most importantly, he had a great love for his dogs.

Allen was a husband, dad and grandpa and he will be loved and greatly missed by family and friends.

Allen is predeceased by his parents Joan and Dick, brothers Dick, Johnnie, Joe and Phil, and sisters Ada and Anne.

Allen is survived by his wife Kathy, son Casey, daughter Lana, grandkids Andrew, Callysa, Megan, Emma and Demi, brothers Jeff Dashwood (Sue), Dave Stace-Smith (Char), Art Stace-Smith (Lorretta), sister June Wright and many other close relatives around British Columbia.
