Maureen Elizabeth Roberts

Maureen passed away peacefully at Swan Valley Lodge, Creston, in the early hours of November 6, 2018. 

Maureen was born on March 27, 1947 in St. Mary’s Bay, Newfoundland to Samuel and Rose Ryan. In 1968, she married Victor Roberts and had two children, Tricia and Victor. Maureen and Tricia later moved to Creston in 1992. 

In 2002, Maureen joined the Pentecostal Church where she was later baptized. Maureen is remembered by her family as being a caregiver, spending her working years caring for others as a housekeeper, a support worker and a mother. At 62 years of age Maureen returned to school at the College of the Rockies to earn a diploma as a Health Care Aide, which further allowed her to share her helping nature with her community. 

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Rose Ryan and her brother James Ryan.

She is survived by her loving children Tricia (Abe) and Victor; her grandchildren Wyatt and Sarah Pawelko; brothers Malachy (Susan) Mandeville and Michael (Carolyn) Ryan; sisters Patricia and Brenda Ryan; sister-in-law Loretta Ryan; nephew Thomas and nieces Dawn and Sherry.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Rotacrest Hall on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2 pm. Donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to the Harris Unit of Swan Valley Lodge.
