Obituary for Linda Moore
Suddenly, unexpectedly but peacefully, Linda Charlene Moore of Erickson, BC (nee Billings and Grozli) passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at home. Linda was predeceased by her parents, the love of her life, her husband Ronald Moore just one year ago as well as her former husband Julius Grozli in Feb 2018. She is survived by her children Leslie Hecher (Dan) of Invermere, BC and grandchildren Melyssa (Ted) and Ashley, Michael Grozli (Alison) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB and grandchildren Sydnee (Lance), Bryce and Chase; John Grozli (Andrea) of Winnipeg and many other relatives and friends across Canada.
Linda was born in Winchester, Ontario on December 23, 1943. She lived in many places in her life and finally settled in the Kootenay Valley region together with Ron. Mom’s brief work life saw her employed as a cook at the Salvation Army in Yellowknife in the 1980’s and a housekeeper.
Mom loved to collect porcelain dolls, do word search puzzles and play games on her tablet. She was an associate member of the Canadian Legion in Creston. She loved knitting, rug hooking, gardening, baking, cooking and her sparkly jewelry! Country music was always playing in the house. Mom had a great sense of humor which helped her manage her many health conditions. Mom also loved to shop at the Gleaners Thrift store. Although Mom didn’t like flying, she enjoyed her trips by Greyhound Bus to Fort Saskatchewan and Winnipeg to see her children.
Special thanks to the Creston Valley Ambulance and Fire Department who attended to Mom, Dr. Hoffman, the staff of the Kidney Clinic in Cranbrook, and to Trudy and Keith Roussell for their love and support of Mom, especially this past year. There will be no funeral service and interment will take place at a later date. If you so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army Mental Health and Addictions programs (www.salvationarmy.ca or The Salvation Army, Territorial Headquarters, 2 Overlea Blvd, Toronto ON, M4P 1P4) or to the General Scholarship Fund at Gleaners (807 Canyon Street, Creston, BC V0B 1G3).
